What does Lockdown mean for the property market?

Currently you can continue your property search/move following Covid-19 safety guidelines. Members of the public and agents will have to wear masks, unless they are exempt and if so please just let the agent know, as well as socially distancing and sanitise before entering the property. The property must be vacant at the time of the viewing, as well as a maximum of 2 households in a property at a time. We would advise that applicants do a virtual viewing first, which would be watching the video/virtual tour. Viewings are to take place via appointment only, so no open house events can take place. It would be recommended that if you are a vendor or Landlord that you should have all doors open and wash down any handles or surfaces that would have been touched during the viewing. It is advised that when packing, you do as much as you can yourself, to reduce others handling your items. However, tradesmen, conveyancers, developers and removal people can still work, but how they operate may be slightly different.

If you do have any symptoms of Covid-19, are self-isolating or test positive, then you will need to notify the agency, so we can make sure you isolate and not have contact with any agents or other applicants. This can prolong the move between properties, but exchanges and completions are still taking place.

When tradesmen need to enter a property, they still can do so as long as no one in the property is showing any Covid-19 symptoms or self-isolating.
